Whenever I can, I love creating videos. Over the years I’ve been teaching myself how to edit, and I can now managed the basics. I’m always learning as I go, and I love watching my video clips come together into a little visual story. I also enjoy finding cinematic or easy listening music that brings back the feelings of being there again.
Making videos takes a lot of time, and with a full‑time job I rarely get the chance to work on big projects. I don’t talk to the camera — I’m too shy for that, and honestly I feel a bit too old and slow for the whole “creator” thing 😂. There are so many amazing people online who do it brilliantly. The internet is full of talent, and I love watching what others create.
Most of my videos are uploaded to my YouTube channel, and I usually share them across my other social channels linked at the end of this page.
I’ll link some of my favourite videos below, but if you want to see more have a look at my YouTube channel linked above or my other channels.
Slains Castle, Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire
This is my most recent video, filmed during a visit to Slains Castle. There was something mysterious about wandering through the ruins, and I loved every moment. I’ll be writing a blog post about this soon.
Isle of Arran, Scotland in miniature
Ah the Isle of Arran, my happy go to place. This project of five videos took a long time to come together, and a few of the clips are not perfect, but I still love the final result.
River Ayr Way, Ayrshire
The River Ayr Way was another time-consuming three-video project, with many return visits to different locations. It’s one I’m really proud of though — especially as it was my first time walking the route, and I did it solo.
